It is show time. After the big success we had at the first show Planting A Future was invited to the District Agriculture show.
That meant we had to prepare a much better booth with more info material like posters and pictures, but also samples of breadfruit and all the other trees we raise in our nursery. A lot of work to do. And as you all know: TIA…This Is Africa. Things turned out difficult.
But thanks to our friends from the Breadfruit Institue we managed to get some brand new posters with lots of informations.
Also we had maps made that show the areas of the world where breadfruit can grow. And we could finally get some stickers and tags to label all our trees we raise in the nursery and of course the breadfruit samples.
With all those eye catchers our booth really stood out at the show and was drawing people. We were busy talking to interested people all the time.
One of our absolute highlights was that we, for the first time, were cooking with the breadfruit flour. Tandi fried some breadfruit fritters to hand out to people at the show and as sample. We were so excited to have the first taste of breadfruit.
We recieved a lot of positive feedback from visitors and official people. Our booth is unique. Although no award was given to Planting A Future this time we still got invited to the provincial show in Livingstone on July 15th. Its is a huge success for us to move up another level.
And more great news, though nothing official yet: People in charge of the shows are telling us to get ready for the national show. Breadfruit is sensational here! 🙂
We are all overwhelmed by these positive reactions and feedback!
