“Let’s make it huge!” – Overwhelming Success at Agriculture Shows

Why we are exhibiting at these shows:

This year’s show’s theme “Innovation Beyond Golden Jubilee” fits well with Planting A Future’s objective of changing the mindset of farmers, policy makers and the general public from traditional crop farming to growing trees.

Much of the food insecurity facing rural population is over reliance on maize farming. This is no longer viable due to El Niño, cost of farming inputs and equipment. The problem has been compounded by the decimation of draught animals due to corridor disease. Many farmers use oxen to plough thier fields and much of the cattle has died.

It is Planting A Future’s aim to see every home in our community growing fruit trees. We also intend to have breadfruit tree orchards which in the near future will supply fruits to the general public. As we exhibit we are meeting policy makers, NGO’s and Ministry Of Agriculture officials.
